What this Blog is about?

Hidden Meanings

The Indian Heritage has a number of texts which were composed in the form of Epics. The reason why a Poem form was possibly chosen is that it was relatively easy to remember in the same form (learn by heart) than when written in a prose form. A lot has already been written about the hidden meanings in these epics and a lot is still being discovered new.

Reading the same epic twice throws two different areas of focus from the author's perspective. This could be true of any poem, any epic, any great religious work. However, the focus of this blog will remain the Indian religious texts

Meanings in Daily Practices

A number of daily practices are part of the Indian culture - some simple examples -
  • Waking up early in the morning
  • Lighting a lamp daily
  • Offering prayers to one's favorite God
To the modern generation, this will look like rituals with out meaning or rationale. However, each ritual had a significant role to play in the life of those days and many are relevant even today. This blog will try to open some of the reasons why those rituals could have come up and what is the relevance of the same even today. Yes, if some of them are not really relevant to the day, even they can be discussed.

Meanings in the Sacred Texts

Every Religious text also holds a number of meanings which are forgotten when concentrating on the story. In addition, a number of stotras and mantras in the epics had the capability of doing general good to the community. If any of you know of those benefits, please feel free to share them with the world.
